Frequently Asked questions

Aftercare

(How do i take care of my tattoo?)

Remove the bandage from your new tattoo within 2-4 hours after getting tattooed. Do not re-bandage your tattoo.

Wash the tattoo gently with warm water and mild anti-bacterial or Castile soap using only your fingertips and pat dry with a paper towel.

Work in a small amount of Vitamins A&D or Aquaphor Ointment about 3 times daily for the first 5-7 days that your tattoo is healing. Your tattoo should be kept moist but not wet with ointment to help prevent scabbing.  The top layer of skin over your tattoo will flake off, this is normal. DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO!    If a scab should happen to  form, continue using the ointment until it falls off on it’s own. Showering is fine to do while your tattoo heals, however DO NOT Let the force of the shower water spray directly on your tattoo.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT SOAK YOUR TATTOO IN A BATH TUB,HOT TUB, OR GO SWIMMING FOR 7-10 DAYS

Your tattoo MUST be protected from the sun while healing. We recommend using a strong sunblock AFTER it has healed. During the healing process you can cover your tattoo with lose clothing if you plan to be out in the sun.   DO NOT GO TANNING FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS AFTER GETTING TATTOOED! (THIS INCLUDES SPRAY TANNING)

Use A&D Ointment for about 5-7 days. Then switch to a good quality, unscented skin lotion for another 7-10 days. The tattoo will remain bright, clear, and crisp if you take care of your skin! Remember, your tattoo can only look as good as your skin, so  moisturize when needed!

How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?

Before your tattoo appointment, you should make sure that you are well rested, hydrated and you have eaten a good meal. It is important to have a healthy body to ensure the best tattoo experience possible. Remember to wear lose clothing that will allow the artist access to the place on your body that you want your tattoo. We also suggest wearing dark colors or clothing you don't mind getting ink on just in case!

What should I bring with me?

Please make sure you bring a valid government issued photo ID with a birth date on it with you such as a driver's license or NYS ID. Please note that in the state of New York it is illegal to tattoo any persons under the age of 18 even with parental consent. We are a cash-only shop so feel free to have cash on hand a head of time, but we do have an ATM available if needed.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Tattoo price depends on many factors such as size, detail, color, placement, and even artist. It is possible to give a rough estimate of price for smaller more simple designs over phone or email but for more involved pieces we recommend stopping into he shop to speak with an artist in person about your tattoo.
